Kurt Von Gonten is a Senior Associate Attorney at DRC Law, where he dedicates his practice to representing and advocating for the interests of property owners, the construction trade, real estate professionals, lenders, and community associations. Mr. Von Gonten was born and raised in Miami, Florida.

Mr. Von Gonten received his Bachelor's degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1986, his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern Law School in 1991, and his Master of Laws in Real Property Development from the University of Miami in 2018. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Prior to joining DRC Law, Mr. Von Gonten practiced law throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties for over three decades, building a broad practice spanning real estate, construction, and insurance law. His experience includes representing developers, contractors, banks, and community associations in complex real estate and construction litigation, including quiet title actions, construction defect and lien disputes, and ADA litigation, one of which resulted in a $1 million jury verdict. He also maintained an active first-party property insurance and lender foreclosure practice, handled numerous commercial and residential real estate closings, and represented clients including Bass Pro Shops, the Archdiocese of Miami, and Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company.

Throughout his career, Mr. Von Gonten has remained active in professional and civic affairs. He served as Vice Chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit, Division II, and as past Secretary of the Upper Keys Bar Association. He has served on the boards of the Rotary Club of Perrine-Cutler Ridge/Palmetto Bay, The Cultural Council, Inc. of South Dade, and the Miami Civic Music Association. A long-time member of the Masonic fraternity, he is a Past Master of Biscayne Bay Lodge and was recognized in 2021 by The Grand Lodge of the Republic of Venezuela for organizing humanitarian relief for that country.
