Jan Aguilera was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Mr. Aguilera then went on to study law at Florida State College of Law, where he graduated in 2022. During law school, Mr. Aguilera worked at a civil litigation firm where he assisted different carriers in the defense of personal injury and premise liability claims. He was also a research assistant to Steve R. Johnson, who served as a senior attorney with the IRS Chief Counsel’s Office and as a special assistant United States attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. Outside of classes and work, Mr. Aguilera also volunteered his time to help his local community through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Prior to joining DRC, Mr. Aguilera practiced personal injury and construction defense at one of Florida's largest defense firms where he won his first trial verdict. In his spare time, Mr. Aguilera enjoys cooking, competitive sports, and spending time with his wife and pet labrador.
