Jan Aguilera is an Associate Attorney in the firm's Coral Gables office. He was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Florida International University.


Mr. Aguilera then attended Florida State University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor. During law school, Mr. Aguilera worked at a civil litigation firm, where he assisted insurance carriers in the defense of personal injury and premises liability claims. He also served as a research assistant to Steve R. Johnson, a former senior attorney with the IRS Chief Counsel's Office and special assistant United States attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. Outside of his coursework, Mr. Aguilera volunteered with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to help his local community.


Prior to joining DRC, Mr. Aguilera practiced personal injury and construction defense at one of Florida's largest defense firms, where he won his first trial verdict. He is also experienced in handling contract disputes, premises liability, commercial trucking, first-party property, and bad-faith claims. In addition to litigation, Mr. Aguilera is well versed in alternative dispute resolution, including subrogation. In his spare time, Mr. Aguilera enjoys cooking, football, golf, and spending time with his family.
